- Freshmeat
- freshmeat maintains the Web's largest index of Unix and cross-platform software, themes and related "eye-candy", and Palm OS software. Thousands of applications, which are preferably released under an open source license, are meticulously catalogued in the freshmeat database, and links to new applications are added daily. Each entry provides a description of the software, links to download it and to obtain more information, and a history of the project's releases, so readers can keep up-to-date on the latest developments.

- kde-look
- This site is dedicated to making your KDE desktop sexier than ever, you can get wallpaper, widgets, decorations, icons and all the rest of everything you could ever want to jazz up your working environment.
- Pure FTP
- Pure FTP is a rather handy, secure and generally useful FTP daemon, it's easy to setup hard to break and it does what it says on the can.
- Karamba
- Karamba, hrmmm, more eye-candy for your desktop, this could be called DML (desktop Markup Language) because it allows you to create totally custom toolbars for KDE as well as live charts, counters and any other bits of arcane text you'd want to have displayed on your desktop.
Hardware
- Draytek
- Makers of fine ADSL routing equipment since... whenever it was. These guys provide my connection to the internet, this link is here more for me than you, but I do give the ADSL routers they do a big thumbs up :)
- Iiyama
- These guys are the monitor-kings, they have awesome customer service and a number of really great products. If you're in the market for a new screen, you can't go wrong with an Iiyama.
- Mini-ITX
- These boys do intresting things with tiny pooters. They have a great projects page with some bizarre user-contributions.
- Lin-ITX
- This is a Mini-ITX site dedicated to boxes that run Linux, they sell pre-built web appliances running on mini-ITX kit that takes up as much space as a book on your shelf. Not a bad idea if you're looking for a quiet, cool, teeny tiny pooter to run as a web-appliance.
- Overclockers UK
- Overclockers is a general PC hardware site that sells all sorts of nifty bits, I particularly like their range of Intel motherboards
- Insight UK
- Based in Tempe, Arizona, Insight Enterprises, Inc. is one of the largest technology solution providers in the world.

- When you want to know more but don't know where to look, groklaw has quite a few of the answers. At least that is if you're looking for an honest view of a number of touchy subjects regarding evil corporates and the law.

- Linux International is a non-profit association of groups, corporations and others that work towards the promotion of growth of the Linux operating system and the Linux community.

- Linux.com is a diverse and active linux news, tips, help and information resource. I imagine that you'll have found this one by yourself (given the name) but I thought I'd include it for completeness

- The linux.org domain was registered in May, 1994 by Michael McLagan to fulfil a need for information about the growing Linux movement. Their web site is designed to act as a central source of Linux information and as a voice for the promotion and advocacy of the Linux operating system.

- The linux documentation project (tldp) is the premier resource for ALL information you need to run a linux box. They have just about everything! loads of geeks have contributed to this one they have a HOWTO for all the main tasks, and extended documentation for the more difficult tasks.
- Linux today
- Linux today is a regularly updated linux news site, with all the reads of the day. They provide a regular feed of news for any and all to include in their site. True linux-open-source geezers this lot :)
- Linux head quarters
- The LinuxHQ Web Sites tries to organise and catalogue many of the Linux related kernel patches in one central location.
- Lars Wirzenius Homepage
- This page is the online home of Lars Wirzenius, I spent a long while reading his site, he seems to be a well adjusted geek of the highest order, not to mention a close pal of Linus Torvalds. Well worth a read especially if you're a linux evangelist.
- SuSE
- SuSE Linux, my distro of choice. I think SuSE is the most complete Linux distro I've used yet. Though it's very mainstream and (some would say) bloated with loads of software, I like it because it's easy to use, forgiving, feature rich and FREE! Of course, all good Linux distro's a free, but SuSE IS one of the better ones.
- Gentoo
- Gentoo, hrmmmm, one of the more intresting distro's out there... they have a great idea this lot a " META Distro" that compiles itself during install, thus optimising for your hardware like NOTHING you've ever seen... Gentoo is basically Linux from scratch without the headache.
- Daily xine RPMS
- If you're looking to get video working well under linux then this is the site for you. They cover *all* you need to know to get your video files and DVD's working under linux.
